We are two weeks away from big 2016 Thanksgiving weekend
and like many holidays food planning can get tough and repetitive. The same turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, maybe some salad, if you’re feeling healthy. So we have done some investigating for you to find inspiration for the upcoming holiday feasts
Most are still going to make a classic turkey but if not, these side dishes we found still go great with ham, chicken or even steak. Regardless of the main dish, here are 98 side dishes to spice up your Thanksgiving feast: http://www.cookingchanneltv.com/recipes/thanksgiving-side-dish-recipes.html
Go classic with potatoes in all forms: mashed, roasted, fried, baked, add garlic, rosemary or thyme or get creative by serving a throwback: macaroni and cheese with bread crumbs and bacon. Vegetables are always a must so roast carrots, squash, zucchini and onions with honey and balsamic vinegar.
But the crowning jewel to almost any holiday feast is the dessert… Mmm yes, the apple, pumpkin or strawberry-rhubarb pie that always needs ice cream or whipping cream; the chocolate chip cookies snacked on before dinner leaving guests too full to eat the main course; the bowl of chocolate covered pretzels or caramel corn thats looking a fairly empty by 8pm. Whatever your vice we have some recipes to try out down below.
If you have kids running around the house or want a few fun, creative treats to snack on, there are 15 desserts just for Thanksgiving: http://www.topdreamer.com/15-creative-delicious-thanksgiving-desserts/
And if cutesy desserts aren’t for you, go mini with these are 27 bite-size desserts you can serve up: http://www.delish.com/holiday-recipes/thanksgiving/g1183/mini-thanksgiving-desserts/?slide=1
Or lastly, theres always the option to just go classic. If you don’t already have a special pie recipe passed down generations, www.allrecipes.com has got you covered. This site is a life-saver as it contains a large number of recipes, comments and photos from members who have used recipes off the site, ways to alter recipes to fit a dietary restriction, and so much more. Find your perfect recipe or inspiration so your friends and family can have a “just like mom made it…” moment.
